GOTS

GOTS, or the Global Organic Textile Standard, is recognized globally as the most rigorous certification for organic textiles. It enforces strict control over the use of additives or auxiliaries in the processing of cotton textiles to prevent the potential residues of pesticides, chemical pollutants, and heavy metals.

The cultivation of organic cotton reduces greenhouse gas emissions, making efficient use of natural farming environments and improving land ecology in an Earth-friendly manner. Achieving compliance with GOTS organic certification is no easy feat. It involves strict control at every stage, from seed to growth, cotton ginning, spinning, dyeing, weaving into textiles, cutting and pattern making, labeling, and the final product. Each stage features traceability records. As environmental awareness grows, more and more consumers recognize and prefer products with GOTS certification, and more brands are increasing the proportion of green products in their offerings, including brands like C&A, H&M, Nike, and Decathlon.
